ֱWelcomes Students for Fall 2015 Semester

ֱ students will return to campus this week to mark the start of the University’s fall 2015 semester.
Move-In Day is the official day for residential students to return to campus. ֱfaculty, staff, and student groups will be on hand to help students move into their residence halls. Move-In Day will take place on Tuesday, August 11 beginning at 8 a.m. at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Dr., in Jupiter. Move-In Day will continue on Thursday, Aug. 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m., at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
Student residence halls at FAU’s Boca and Jupiter campuses will be at 100 percent capacity this semester. This will be the largest number of students living on-campus in FAU’s history.
“On-campus housing provides an opportunity for student residents to be in the immediate space of campus life programs and academic support services, which will enhance their college experience,” said Larry Faerman, Ph.D., executive director of ֱHousing and Residential Education. “This is just another step toward raising the University’s profile.”
ֱreceived more than 22,100 freshman applications and more than 9,000 transfer applications for fall 2015, which is 3,000 more applications than last year. More than 5,095 applications came from Broward County this year, an 11 percent increase over last year. Applications from Palm Beach County jumped to 3,580, a 9 percent increase from fall 2014.
FAU’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at the John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter will welcome 157 new students this fall, making it the largest class since the College’s inception in 1999. This number represents a 52 percent increase over fall 2014 enrollment numbers for that College.
