The ‘Atlantic Awakens’ for ֱHomecoming 2018

ֱ will celebrate Homecoming 2018 “Atlantic Awakens” beginning Sunday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 10, at its Boca Raton, Broward, and Jupiter campuses. All events are open to ֱstudents, faculty and staff unless otherwise noted.

The following events will take place at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:

Day of Service
Thursday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Breezeway, Diversity Way and Housing Lawn

Participate in a service-learning event that addresses a social concern in the community.The event is co-sponsored by the Weppner Center for LEAD and Service-Learning and Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement.

Homecoming Run for Autism - 5K Run/Walk
Sunday, Nov. 4
Check-in at 4 p.m., race at 5 p.m.
Alexander D. Henderson Soccer Field Facility
**Open to the public**

The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) and ֱCampus Recreation will host the 2018 Homecoming 5k Run for Autism. A one-mile fun run/walk will begin before the race starting at 4 p.m. A run for children ages 8 and younger will begin at 3 p.m. The 5K will begin at 4 p.m. 5k run will feature costumed character stops by the 501stLegion cosplay group.

The empire strikes back at during this Homecoming event for students. There will be snow flurries, frozen treats, characters, and some fresh “Hoth” chocolate.

Red Hot Madness and Stroll Off
Monday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Join National Pan-Hellenic Council fraternities and sororities as they show off their best moves. There will be strolling, contests, prizes and live music. This is also your chance to meet the ֱmen’s and women’s basketball teams before each kick-off their seasons.

‘ExtravaCANza’ Canned Food Sculpture Contest
Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.

FAU’s Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning and Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI) will host “ExtravaCANza,” a unique tin-can food drive competition. Teams will race to build the best sculpture out of canned food items. After the event, all non-perishable items used will be donated to Boca Helping Hands and FAU’s Beyond Food.

Forest Moon DIY Terrariums

This event for students will provide the glass containers, soil, rocks, moss, plant, and figurines so you cantake home your own piece of “Endor.”
