Peter Sagal Coming to Theatre Lab
Peter Sagal of NPRās āWait, Wait Donāt Tell Meā is coming to FAUās Theatre Lab as part of their Playwright's Forum.
Theatre Lab, the professional resident company of ·¬ĒŃÖ±²„, welcomes Peter Sagal of NPRās āWait, Wait, Donāt Tell Meā on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Playwrightās Forum series. The event takes place in Theatre Lab in Parliament Hall, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by visiting or by calling 561-297-6124. Student tickets are $5 cash at the door.
āMany people donāt know that Peter Sagal is a playwright,ā said Lou Tyrrell, artistic director of Theatre Lab. āWe are thrilled to bring this side of Peterās talents to the South Florida community.ā
Theatre Lab and WLRN Public Media are teaming up for this event. Following the reading of Sagalās āMall America,ā WLRNās Caroline Breder-Watts will conduct an on-stage interview. Part theatrical event, part master class, this special evening will showcase the diverse talents of one of NPRās most beloved personalities.
As a playwright, Peter is the author of āDenial,ā āMost Wanted,ā āKimās Sister,ā āWhat to Say,ā āReal Timeā (commissioned by Seattle Rep), āMall America,ā and many other plays and short pieces for the theater which have been produced at Long Wharf Theater, New York Stage and Film, Actors Theater of Louisville, Florida Stage, Illusion Theater, City Theater of Pittsburgh, and elsewhere in the United States and abroad.

Theatre Lab was established on FAUās campus in September 2015. Louis Tyrrell, founding artistic director of Florida Stage and the Theatre at Arts Garage, is the artistic director and Dorothy F. Schmidt Eminent Scholar in the Arts for this new initiative. The first season is generously supported by Edith and Martin Stein. Patrons are encouraged to come early to enjoy beer, wine, drinks and snacks available for purchase, and explore the gallery exhibition space that houses the lobby for Theatre Lab.
