The ֱCenter for Economic Education provides workshops and events for K-12 teachers to provide them with the knowledge, materials and know-how to teach economics and financial literacy in their classrooms. Last year, the funds helped the Center offer six events for more than 80 teachers. In addition, world-renowned financial literacy expert Annamaria Lusardi spoke to teachers about the importance of financial literacy.

“We are proud to support FAU’s financial literacy initiatives in our community,” said Jose Soto, State Farm public affairs specialist in Florida. “Financial education, like all learning, is a process that should begin at an early age and continue throughout life. This ongoing process builds the skills necessary for making important financial decisions as an adult.”

Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business, said he’s proud of the work done by FAU’s Center for Economic Education.

“Dr. Bosshardt’s work with teachers across South Florida to promote financial literacy is extremely important in helping to improve everyone’s quality of life,” he said. “The College appreciates the support from State Farm, which will help us increase the number of students we are able to reach.”
