·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥ will celebrate Women’s History Month with a series of events throughout the month of March at its Boca Raton, Jupiter, and Davie campuses.

·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥ will celebrate Women’s History Month with a series of events throughout the month of March at its Boca Raton, Jupiter, and Davie campuses. All events are open only to ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥students, faculty and staff unless otherwise noted.

The following events will take place at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:

SISTUHS, Inc. Celebration

Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m.

Student Union

SISTUHS, Inc., an organization for women established to foster personal growth and development, will be celebrate five years at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥with a night of fun events for women.


Women on The Canvas

Wednesday, March 15 at 11 a.m.

SO Rotunda

This event aims to celebrate women as a subject of art. Participants will discuss the significance of the feminine aesthetic and female form.

Sister to Sister

Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m.

Live Oak C & D, Student Union

This event aims to help women of all skin colors gain confidence and embrace their inner and outer beauty.

The Intersection: Lesbian & Latina Women

Thursday, March 23 at 5 p.m.

Student Union

How does your Latin culture intersect with your LGBTQ+ identity? Join us as we engage in dialogue to unpack these identities.


The Vagina Monologues

Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.

Studio 2, Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters

*Open to the public for $15

This modern play is performed from the point of view of women of all races, sexualities and backgrounds. Its goal is spread awareness about women empowerment, body positivity and sexual assault. Each monologue is unique, powerful and full of humor. Tickets are $12 for student, faculty and staff with a valid Owl Card.

Women’s Leadership Institute

Friday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m.

Multipurpose Room, Innovation Village Apartments (IVA)

The goal is this second annual event is to raise awareness of the critical issues women face in leadership, and provide them opportunities to transform that awareness into action and advocacy.

LUNAFEST

Thursday, March 16 at 6 p.m.

Jupiter Lifelong Learning Society

*Open to the public for $20

LUNAFEST is a touring film festival that honors the talents and stories of women everywhere through a series of short films. All proceeds from LUNAFEST are donated to charity, and 85 percent of the event’s profits will go toward scholarships for female students on the Jupiter campus.

Women’s History Month Keynote Speaker & Luncheon feat. Dr. Naima Johnston Bush

Friday, March 17 at noon

Burrow Student Union

What does it take to be a woman in leadership? What challenges are ahead for women, and how do we provide a community of empowerment for all? National speaker and performer Naima Johnston Bush, Ph.D., will provide words of wisdom while lunch is served.

It’s On Us: Flag Display

Monday, March 20

Library Walkway

A flag display will provide a visual representation of the number of men and women estimated to be victims of sexual assault during their time in college, according to national statistics.

It’s On Us: Denim Days

Tuesday, March 21

Dining Hall

What you wear does not make rape justifiable. Show your support for survivors of sexual assault by wearing jeans and stopping by the Denim Day table in the Dining Hall.

It’s On Us: Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Thursday, March 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Field

This event provides men an opportunity to show their pledge to creating a culture of consent. Participants will wear a pair of red high heels in a march against sexual violence.

Refugee Women: Lunch & Learn

Wednesday, March 29 at noon

Burrow Student Union

Lunch will be served while participants examine the plight of refugees and specifically look into the challenges of women in refugee camps.

Women’s HERstory History Panel

Monday, March 20 at 5 p.m.

Oasis Lounge

Students and staff will share stories about the women who have influenced them over years as well as provide tips and guidance to women in the audience. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
